omg so today I was informed of this theory that the rugrats was all a figment of Angelica’s imagination. 

Tommy was a stillborn, and his dad, Stu, obsesses over making toys for his dead son in the basement

Chuckie and his (already canonically dead) mother both died in a car accident, and that is why his dad, Chaz, is so paranoid and high-strung.

Phil and Lil’s mother actually miscarried, and it was before they knew the sex of the baby, so Angelica created a boy and a girl to fit the mystery. 

Angelica, if I remember correctly, is the only one who can communicate with both the babies and the adults, whereas the babies are not understood and do not talk to the parents.
